Kilchis River Fishing Report
12-19-2017
OR Department of Fish & Wildlife Staff
Fall Chinook fishing has been slow and although the Kilchis is known for late Chinook, the run is definitely winding down. Best chances for bright fish have been right after rain events as the river first drops into shape. Bobber fishing bait, back-bouncing, back-trolling plugs or divers and bait, or casting spinners can all be effective methods for Chinook.
It’s early for steelhead on the Kilchis as this is mostly a wild run, but there should be a few fish showing up following this week’s freshet.
