Channel Islands Sportfishing

Report: We had a great day of fishing the Channel Island with both great weather and fishing biting! For those fishing the local islands the game fish bite was off but the bottom fishing was definitely on. Whitefish, Sheephead and shallow water species of Rockfish were flying over the side and into the sacks. The outer island bite was also not so shabby as the overnight boats loaded up on big Reds and Lings. One of our boats fishing Santa Rosa Island also caught a bunch of Yellowtail. The loads on the boats were rather minimal too. We are definitely seeing a slow down so the boats are not packed at capacity like they were in the summer months. Even on the weekends we have plenty of rail space. This makes not only makes it more comfortable for our anglers, but will actually increase your chances of hooking and landing that big fish.

Today’s Fish Count: 9 Boats and 211 Anglers

1,650 Rockfish, 778 Whitefish, 46 Sheephead, 94 Lingcod, 4 Calico Bass, 1 Bonito, and 14 Yellowtail.
