Channel Islands Sportfishing
It was overall a nice day for our boats fishing this afternoon. Fishing at inner islands like Anacapa or Santa Cruz probably enjoyed the best weather but the Yellowtail bite was much tougher than it had been earlier in the week. Our overnight/outer island boats did what they do, and loaded up on some giant Rockfish and Lingcod. Good enough weather to make it all the way out to San Miguel Island.
We will be back at it tomorrow with another busy day ahead of us. We are completely sold out for Sunday but we have a room on an overnight boat leaving Sunday night fishing Monday. Also on Monday we have several morning departures, all sitting light as far as reservations go. Chances are good those Yellowtail will bite with less boat pressure on the weekdays too!
Today’s Fish Count: 10 Boats and 212 Anglers
1,335 Rockfish, 920 Whitefish, 97 Lingcod, 11 Sheephead, 4 Sole, 8 Bonito, 8 Yellowtail, 26 Calico Bass and 2 Thresher Shark.
