Channel Islands Sportfishing
Report: The recent winds we had cooled the water down so much that it gave our game fish lock jaw. The Yellowtail didn’t leave they area, they just didn’t want to eat. Our captains reported seeing them on the sonar throughout the day. Hopefully they snap out of it and acclimate quickly. Until then, we have plenty of up and down fishing to keep us busy. The Whitefish and Sheephead are biting in the shallows along with Calico Bass in the kelp. Rockfishing is starting to get really good, for those fishing the edges or deep water.
Today’s Fish Count: 8 Boats and 196 Anglers
1,256 Rockfish, 60 Lingcod, 16 Sheephead, 86 Whitefish, 5 Sole, 10 Bonito, and 47 Calico Bass
