Stellar action

Another stellar day of ridge angling that included red hot night action on tuna that carried over into the day. Plenty of tuna resided in the hatch by mid morning focusing the effort on wahoo, but for a few short respites, for the remainder of our time in the lower zone. That effort produced even greater success as the previous day convincing us that the bank is definitely on the upswing. It would not surprise me at all to see banner catches of wahoo in the next few weeks. In flat calm weather we departed this paradise choosing to extend our fishing time by working up the coast tomorrow and Friday. Even though we scoured the “Beach” for very little on our passage south all of us are well aware of how fast conditions change. Following the new moon and extended period of south swell I would not be at all surprised to find a very different set up tomorrow.

Photo credit today belongs to Royal Star legend Robert “Hot Bobby” Hirsch who adds flavor to any voyage he joins. In today’s case he was the recipient of fine fishing fortune picking off this fifty pound class wahoo that will be shared and enjoyed among many friends.
