Today was only 1 of 2 days in the year that a fishing license is NOT required by the state of California. Because of this and of course it being Labor Day weekend, our boats were hopping! Countless private boats mixed in with various sport boats like ours, made the local islands a virtual parking lot. Despite the crowded fishing grounds, the fish were biting. Sometimes with that many boats in an overall small area, pinging sonars off the fish, makes the bite picky. Today, that didn’t seem to be the problem. If there was any problem it would be the same one we have been dealing with for several weeks, sea lions! But, fishing was good for a variety of species as you can see in our count. Come on out and enjoy this weather. It’s HOT inland, but here it is tolerable. Fishing is good and with this extended weekend we hope to see you at the rail.
