Steady steelhead action on the Sac!

Today I had three anglers fishing the Sacramento River in Redding, Ca.  The bite was on and off, but these guys hooked a bunch of big fish today.  Not very many of our fish today were under 16" which made for a lot of bent rods and singing reels.  These Sac River steelhead are super tough and even the small fish will fool you into thinking they are much bigger!  Compared to last year at this time, I'm finding short bite periods, but persistance is really paying off.  Boat traffic is very light now and finding some solitude is making for a much more enjoyable day on the water.
