Well we are ready for our annual topside Coast Guard Inspection next week, which means the Mighty AA is all put back together and looking good!!!! As far as the tasks accomplished during boatwork; the upper deck got a complete make-over which includes the top of the Pilot house, where we added a few more tubes to store all of the Boats Loaner tackle, Kite rods, big gear and of course, The Long Rods. Also there were a lot of upgrades done on the boat which most likely nobody will see,(like every year) down in the Engine room. We went through the whole fuel system on our main engines fuel pumps, injectors, raw water pumps, raw water cooling, system and the normal TLC we do evey year.
Your AA Crew On Deck..... Ray and Taro will be onboard along with a few new faces joining the team - Jordan, Cameron and Jon, who have been down working on the boat the last couple of months. This is going to be your 2008 A team. In the Galley is our team Paul, Greg and of course Nate making those awesome salads and bread which we all love. And up in the Bridge we have those same old guys steerin the boat and working the Sonar, Sam and Brian.
May 14th will be our first trip, organized by Bob Hara - a day and a half trip - and we are really excited to the get this show on the road!! Looking at the water conditions the last few months since we've been home, it reminds me of back when Brian and I owned and operated the Pacific Queen. We are looking at a cooler water year which indicates a Boomer of a Albacore year - hope I'm right.
Our season is starting off with some day and a half trips into the end of May, rolling into a 3 day Memorial day and then a couple of 8 day trips, a 7 day and then Summer will be here. We have a few spots on some of these trips and I know everybody's gear is in order - so now's the time to throw your rods in the back of the Truck and come fishing.
We're looking forward to fishing with all of you this season!!
