Hi Everyone,
We arrived at the Rocks this morning at 0900 with calm seas. After trolling the wahoo lures over the likely areas, we ended up with one wahoo for our efforts. Stephen Sotelo was the lucky angler and he was stoked. We all told him it was a belated birthday present as his birthday was yesterday. After trying for wahoo, we set up for yellowtail. Very good yellowtail fishing on fish that were 25 to 35 pounds. The guys did best fishing the yo yo jig and the dropper loop rigs. After our yellowtail bite, we drifted in the shallows and played with light tackle for cabrilla and other miscellaneous shallow water fish. Really fun fishing with light tackle and we even landed a yellow pargo caught by Jeff Bruner. Good job Jeff! We had a memorial for Ray Jarvis on the back deck just before sunset, our trip hosts David Tang and Gary Grant had some nice words to say, we all lifted a glass in memorance of Ray, and right at that moment, the clouds opened up and the sun shined through. Pretty awesome stuff. Our chefs prepared a great dinner tonight of grilled flank steak with new potatoes and grilled asparagus. And again tonight, Doug Delaney paired the dinner with some good Delaney Family wine. Life is good on the Intrepid. We'll check in tomorrow, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
