Shasta rainbow bite is on!
7-11-2017
Jeff Goodwin
Shasta Lake rainbow trout fishing has really taken off and we're catching double digits daily. We are trolling with downriggers down to 100' feet with small dodgers and spoons trailing on a 24" leader, Most bites are coming at 45'-55' early in the morning and we're dropping down deeper as the sun comes up over the surrounding mountains. These rainbows are averaging 2-3 pounds with some of the bigger fish coming in at 4-5 pounds. We're just getting started and this great fishing should hold up well into fall.
