Cisco’s Report: Busy beginning to our Holiday Weekend

6-16-2017
Channel Islands Sportfishing

The beginning of a busy holiday weekend has begun as today, Friday we had as many boats and anglers on the water as we normally do on a Saturday. The weather was absolutely perfect and looks to get even better over the weekend. It’s warm and sunny with only enough breeze to keep you cool as you fish. As for the fishing, the quality was reported to be excellent, meaning nice sized fish. A few game fish were brought aboard but the bottom fishing made up the bulk of today’s catch. One can only hope the Yellowtail or White Seabass bite picks up, especially for all those dads on Father’s Day. Keep your fingers crossed, but conditions are changing for the better so odds are good this weekend will be an outstanding one! Today’s Fish Count: 11 Boats and 251 Anglers 2,279 Assorted Rockfish, 90 Lingcod, 1 Cabezon, 66 Sheephead, 3 Sole, 14 Sculpin, 406 Ocean Whitefish, 2 Halibut, 1 Bonito, 58 Calico Bass, 7 Barracuda, 2 White Seabass, and 7 Yellowtail.
