Good morning Gang,

We arrived beck to port this morning from our final 1.5 day trip of the season. We had a fun day with a great group of guys including the owner Ken Price. We located some bigger bluefin in the morning and managed to hook one fish that unfortunately got away. Shortly after this, we hooked another fish on the flat fall jig. Thinking this was a 100 pound class bluefin, we were all surprised to see this fish was an Opah. Jerry Cadena was the fortunate angler and needless to say he was very stoked. After our morning, we had a decent lull with seeing only a few small spots of fish that didn't bite. Come early afternoon, we got on a line of fish that responded fairly well. The first spot we hooked 4 fish and landed 1. The next spot we hooked 1 and landed 0. The next spot we hooked 6 and landed 1. A few opportunities we didn't take advantage of. We ended our day with 2 bluefin and 1 opah. Our weather was good and the company onboard was better. At dark, our chefs Mike and Brian prepared an amazing prime rib dinner. This was a special day for the Intrepid as it was the first Opah landed on the boat in its 10 years of service. This moment was even more special having Ken Price on board to be a part of it. We depart on our our next trip on Saturday morning. A JRI jigs sponsored 7 day with some openings.  Until then, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
