Eureka Pacific Halibut Report

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES! Unlike yesterday's miserable conditions, today was beautiful with no wind and not much swell. There was a lot of life on the Halibut grounds and we started getting bites right away. We had some miscellaneous fish that we released and some nice big Petrale Sole that went into the fish box. What a treat it is to be able to keep these tasty fish. But the main course of the day, Pacific Halibut, were the stars of the show. We had a steady pick and despite a couple of missed opportunities we had limits by 9:30. The crew was generous and insisted on staying out to catch a fish for the Captain, which they did. So Halibut limits, big Petrale Sole, a calm ocean, and nice people. It just doesn't get any better.
