Fish Report for 5-21-2017

Cisco’s Report: Saturday May 20th

5-21-2017
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Beautiful conditions for fishing on this Saturday afternoon! With little to no wind and a calm sea, our boats headed to the islands in search of a variety of fish to catch. Some spent the morning looking for game fish like Yellowtail and White Seabass while others went straight to bottom fishing for Reds and other Rockfish. Overall it was a good day with some success at catching game fish but it could have been a lot better. Reports coming in that they saw a lot of fish on the sonar but getting them to bite was another story. The bottom fishing however was very good reported by most. Fair to good quality coming in at the local islands while the outer island overnight boats hit the big Reds hard catching limits of outstanding quality. Today’s Fish Count: 10 boats and 260 anglers. 1,739 Rockfish, 105 Lingcod, 106 Ocean Whitefish, 2 Sculpin, 1 Sheephead, 1 Halibut, 39 Calico Bass, 1 Barracuda, 3 White Seabass, and 7 Yellowtail.

We have a hand full of openings for fishing Sunday. If you can make it, we have a full day trip targeting game fish and a ¾ day trip that will hopefully duplicate todays catch by loading up on nice Rockfish.
