Cisco’s Report: Yellow’s bite on Sunday!

4-9-2017
Channel Islands Sportfishing

After the big wind storm we had yesterday it was nice to wake up and see things mellow out enough to go fishing Sunday. Overall, the conditions were good at the islands and fishing was much better than anticipated. Targeting bottom fish like Red Snapper and Lingcod, our boats headed out ready to load up on tasty Rockfish. Mission accomplished in that regard, but there was some game fish popping up on the meters and we had to give it a go. Some with success and others not, the Yellowtail ranging from 15 to 25 pounds started biting. We lost several fish but we were able to land enough to generate interest. Good signs of a big bite on the horizon, so get ready and come fishing! We have boats departing daily at numerous departure times, so call or book online now. The weather looks good and our week day trips always have minimal loads! Today’s Fish Count: 6 boats and 123 anglers. 940 Assorted Rockfish, 49 Ocean Whitefish, 11 Sculpin, 7 Lingcod, 1 Sheephead and 11 Yellowtail.
