TROUT

Trout were in shallow waters this week, biting heavily along the campground shoreline and Eagle Point. Night crawlers and mini jigs are the bait of choice. 1,700 lbs. of trout will be stocked this week.

CATFISH & PANFISH

Catfish are biting during the day in Cloister Cove and by the boat dock off of night crawlers.
Hermit Cove is producing bluegill and redear. Meal worms is the favored bait.

CATCHES OF THE WEEK

Don Belchamber reeled in catfish with night crawlers on Friday afternoon. All were caught within an hour!

Michael Macias (boy) was able to reel in this redear after a few minutes of fighting! He was fishing in Hermit Cove.

Alex, Allen, and Frank Fernandez were at it again! The team caught a total of 7 trout with the largest weighing in at 2 1/2 lbs. They were fishing with mini jigs off of Eagle Point.

Brandon Avalos caught his limit of trout on Saturday off of mini jigs in Hermit Cove.

Wyland Palmer, age 6, limited on trout on Saturday! He was fishing the Hermit Cove buoy line with Power Bait. The total weight was 10 lbs.

Best Trout Lures/Bait: Mini jigs, Power Bait
Best Bass Spots: Sentry Point
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Swimbaits, plastic worms
Best Catfish Spots: Cloister Cove
Best Catfish Bait: Night crawlers
Best Pan fish Spot: Hermit Cove
Best Panfish Lures/Bait: Meal worms and night crawlers.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Spring Carnival is this Saturday, April 8th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m! Children under 10 can fish from the Kid’s Pond. There will be free paddle boating for the whole family, and an egg hunt with prizes! Free hot dogs at noon in Hermit Cove!

The lake will be open every day for Spring Break from April 7th - 23rd. Free boat launches on Tuesdays April 11th and 18th!
