Channel Islands Sportfishing
Good weather for today’s trips, especially on the local fishing grounds. Boats fishing Anacapa and even Santa Cruz were treated to mild conditions with a clear sky and air temperatures in the low 70’s. Fishing was decent with most of the boats reporting limits or close to it. The overnight boats had the best of it reporting back with full limits of Rockfish and great quality too. Throw in several Lingcod and you got yourself a nice bag of fish for the days efforts. As for the weather at the outer islands, the overnight boats had to deal with a lot more wind than the local guys. Not enough to call it uncomfortable but they said you can see “it” coming. It’s going to get very windy as the night goes on and into tomorrow. So windy in fact that we had to cancel our overnight trips for tomorrow. Our day trips will be fishing Sunday though, and if you look at the marine forecast it will remain nice on the local grounds for most of the day. We have ¾ and ½ day trips available, so if you can get away tomorrow, give us a call or you can book online at your leisure.
Today’s Fish Count: 9 boats and 207 anglers.
1,925 Assorted Rockfish, 98 Ocean Whitefish, 78 Lingcod, 6 Sheephead, 1 Sculpin, and 3 Barracuda.
