Hi Gang,
Another travel day. Our weather improved through out the day and by sunset we had less than 10 knots of wind. We covered tuna fishing in our meeting after breakfast and the rest of the day was spent rigging topshots and tying on hooks. After our meeting, Wayne Martin and John Gindley put together a great giveaway session and everyone is all set with Catchy Tackle wahoo bombs, jigs, and t shirts. For flylined sardine fishing we like fishing fluorocarbon because it does not reflect light as much as standard monofilament which makes it less visible to the fish and you get more bites. We fish ringed circle hooks because with the ring, the knot is no longer ridged to the hook and allows the hook to swing freely on the ring, making the bait look more natural which, in turn, gets more bites. Those are two of many little tricks we like to incorporate that give us greater success in fishing for giant yellowfin tuna.. For dinner, Chefs Mike and Kyle served seared duck with a roasted beet and goat cheese puree. Another 5 star meal. More later, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4088 to get in on the action.
