Cisco's SATURDAY fishing report 03/04/2017
3-4-2017
Channel Islands Sportfishing
The first weekend of this new season is here and for Saturdays anglers everything went smooth. The weather was nice and the fish were cooperating. Targeting bottom fish ;until the game fish show up, everyone had fun catching Rockfish and Whitefish plus a few Sheephead and Sculpin to round out a nice bag limit. The Rockfish are assorted species as always but a large percentage of them are Vermillion Rockfish otherwise known as Red Snapper. Plenty of Chucklehead's, Starry's and Jonny Bass in the mix too.
For Sunday we do see a little rainy weather being forecasted but not bad enough to shut us down. We will be back out on the water catching more tasty bottom fish like the ones listed above. There is still plenty of open spots so if you can get away give us a call!
Today’s Fish Count: 9 boats and 295 anglers.
2,565 Assorted Rockfish, 174 Lingcod, 430 Ocean Whitefish, 5 Sole, 8 Sculpin, and 10 Sheephead.
