Chetco River steelhead fishing Brookings Oregon

There have been many steelhead fishing options now that the rivers have dropped into fishable shape. One of the better North coast steelhead fishing rivers is the Chetco River near Brookings Oregon. The Chetco River has had great flows and incredible color to be successful at catching both hatchery and wild steelhead. Many steelhead have been hooked by both bank and boat anglers. Side drifting bright colored puffballs tipped with small egg clusters has been all it takes to pick up steelhead 5 to 12 pounds with several steelhead coming into the nets 12 to 16 pounds. The Chetco River will continue to fish well until the late week rains return here. Another river rise will only attract more new chrome bright steelhead into the Chetco River.
