Nevada Department of Wildlife

PowerBait, worms and Woolly Buggers have all been taking rainbow trout at Willow Beach. The fishing is sluggish, but anglers are catching fish. Most are planter-size but some of the trout push three to four pounds. Morning hours have been the most productive. A 25-pound striped bass was reportedly caught over the weekend. Anglers have been finding stripers near Eldorado Canyon, Monkey Hole and near Willow Beach. Soft plastics have been taking largemouth bass as well. As of this writing Cottonwood Cove remains closed though the National Park Service hopes to reopen the facility by the weekend. Fishing in the vicinity has been fair with anglers taking both small stripers and catfish.

The emergency closure at Cottonwood Cove has been lifted and all facilities reopened with full domestic water service. Fishing in the vicinity has been fair with anglers taking both small stripers and catfish.

Here are some of the successful anglers from Lake Mojave. From left to right: Bruce Silat with a 42-inch, 41.46 pound striper, Chuck McMurry holds up a 36 inch and a 34.5-inch striper, and 7-year-old Lily Easter holding up a 22.5 pound striper.
