Channel Islands Sportfishing
Fishing was good today for a variety of bottom fish like Whitefish and Rockfish. We had one boat fish the local spots while the other did an overnight trip to the outer islands. Almost all our Lingcod today were caught on the overnight trip but local Lingcod fishing has been really good for the most part. We had the Santa Ana winds today but it proved to be no problem especially for the outer island boat. In fact, when we get winds in this direction is flattens out the ocean. The farther out you go the nicer it tends to be. They are calling for another Santa Ana condition tomorrow but our trips are going and we are not worried a bit about the weather. If you’re coming just be prepared for a cold morning and lots of fish in your bag in the afternoon!
Today’s Fish Count: 2 boats and 33 anglers.
220 Assorted Rockfish, 61 Ocean Whitefish, and 54 Lingcod.
