Fall Trout Planting began last week and we will be planted every week from now until Thanksgiving. Some of those are private plants with the bigger trout and some are from Fish & Game, usually more pan sized on those!
Cody Ortiz from Colfax caught the first fall limit of trout recorded with us and he was fishing off the shore and tossing spinners.
Joe Ramos from Loomis caught the biggest Trout of the plant using rainbow PowerBait from shore in the Open Area. His trout weighed 3 lb. 4 oz. and measured 23" long.......
Dave Callison & his grandson Hunter had a terrific time fishing together and went home with a huge stringer of Bass and a Catfish to boot..... they fished all around the outer parts of the lake using plastic worms for bait.
Vince Gung from S.F. fished with plastics as well, and caught a trout and four Bass, he too moved around a lot.
Jeanne Tong from Daly City caught a limit of Bass in pretty shallow water while tossing worms on the east bank.
All these Bass were picked up in shallow water due to the cooling down of the lake temperature. This will also allow the planted trout to stay up top to feed and bank fishing is full on again!
Special Thanks to Cecil Grimm who sent us his photo from the lake of his big Bass he caught off the boat dock. He caught and released huge amounts of Bass that day but only kept a couple!
