Today we enjoyed the best weather we have had so far this trip. Sunshine and calm winds made for a vacation like feel on deck. The smell of sunscreen permeated the air as we scratched away at a mixed grade of tuna. The smaller (30# ) tuna were welcomed by anglers with battle weary bodies, and there was enough of the better grade (75-90#) mixed in to keep everyone working hard at the rail. In the late afternoon this island threw us a curve ball and we got on a spot of straight 100 to 150# fish. When the dust settled, we had a couple of reels completely spooled, a couple of broken lines and some pulled hooks. A classic example of being under gunned and why we always urge our to stick with the heavy gear. Today’s shot is of Veteran Royal Star angler Roger Hegyi with a hard won 107# yellowfin. Brian
