Channel Islands Sportfishing
Great fishing again today at the Channel Islands! Bottom fishing was super productive for the boats that fished the shallow reefs for Whitefish and Rockfish. Some boats fished Calico’s instead of going bottom fishing. Some nice bass coming up as of late! A lot of the boats are focusing on Yellowtail and today didn’t disappoint. Weekends are always tough because of boat traffic and tangles but today it was decent. We even had a lone White Seabass caught that was close to 30 pounds. Weather was good, bright and sunny with enough breeze to keep you cool. Overall, just a fun day to be out on the water! We have more trips departing tomorrow morning. Hopefully our anglers on Sunday will be able to put up even better numbers!
Today’s Fish Count: 7 boats and 178 anglers.
73 Yellowtail, 1 White Seabass, 43 Calico Bass, 6 Bonito, 16 Sheephead, 306 Ocean Whitefish, and 600 assorted Rockfish.
