Channel Islands Sportfishing
Yellowtail were boiling around the boats with backs high and dry out of the water chasing our chummed bait. The guys that stuck it out were able to land a few but overall it was another one of those high casualty days. Break offs and tangles were an issue but so were the sea lions. Hard to compete with a hungry bull that has its eyes on your fish. Some boats opted to simply go bottom fishing in the shallows. The whitefish were biting really well at the local islands while the deeper Rockfish were a little more finicky. By days end, everyone was able to put together a respectable count and make sure everyone got something to bring home.
We are back at it tomorrow with plenty of openings on our extended half day trip. The upcoming week also has a bunch of open spots for overnight and full day trips. Give us a call or book online anytime!
Today’s Fish Count: 9 boats and 229 anglers.
49 Yellowtail, 5 Bonito, 9 Calico Bass, 10 Perch, 98 Lingcod, 4 Sheephead, 232 Ocean Whitefish and 765 Assorted Rockfish.
