CATFISH

The big cats are not backing down! Anglers are consistently landing cats weighing between 2 - 15 lbs.! A simple piece of mackerel and the right cast is all you need. The best locations right now are Half Moon Cove, Siesta Cove, and the buoy line by the dam.

Catfish will continue to bite heavily in the next few weeks. The best time to fish is in the early morning or late afternoon until close. Night fishing has ended which means the lake will close at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Whether you are a beginner or want to learn a new rig technique, join one of our Rangers for Fishing University held every Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the Bait shop.

PANFISH

Panfish are biting on night crawlers, meal worms, and wax worms. Siesta Cove and Cloister Cove are the most popular spots for bluegill.

CATCHES OF THE WEEK

Ron Young fished Siesta Cove and reeled in 4 catfish off of mackerel. His largest catch weighed 15 lbs.!
