300-Pounder Weighed!

12-10-2006
Bill Roecker

"We woke up this morning (December 9) with flat calm weather??which makes it so nice to do this kind of fishing," wrote Sam Patella aboard his American Angler December 9.

"When it is calm, you are using your eyeballs more than anything else to put the boat on fish. With that said, today was a totally different day. There was plenty to look at and they wanted to bite just a little bit.?? We stopped the boat several times today, sometimes we would not hook anything and other times we would hook a couple of fish, but you wouldn't go very far before everybody was at the rail and putting a bait in the water for a fish of a lifetime.??We ended up with 14 fish today with Barry Gambarana boating a 324-pound monster and John Heil got a 283-pound tuna. As long as the weather stays nice we will be down here in the zone trying for these Jumbos."
