Large Tuna fish in one day range

The Tribute is returning from a two day trip with 13 bluefin tuna, 14 yellowfin tuna and 1 dorado. The tuna fish on the Tribute are 60-90lbs. Captain Mike Pritchard said "we lost 70% of the fish we hooked because of the size and improper gear, please make sure to bring 40-60lb test line with the same of a fluorocarbon leader and 1/0 hooks in a J style or a 3/0 hook in a circle hook."

The Endeavor also got into some big fish action landing 2 bluefin tuna(80-100lbs) and 22 yellowfin tuna(25-30lbs).

Both the Pride and Aztec got into the action today, combining catches of 79 yellowfin tuna and 8 bluefin tuna.

Captain Cameron on the San Diego is returning from a three quarter day trip with 39 yellowfin tuna(15-25lbs) and one bluefin tuna. "The best thing to bring is a 20-25lb and a 40-50lb rig with a fluorocarbon leader and a #4 and 1/0 hooks", according to Captain Cameron.

8/20/16 UPDATE 12:00pm The Aztec called in with another update. They are up to 50 fish, split evenly between yellowfin and bluefin. There are a lot of the bigger grade of fish showing up. 7/19/16 UPDATE 11:00 The Tribute is up to 5 bluefin and 2 yellowfin! 8:45am - The Tribute started off their two day trip this morning with 3 bluefin (70-80 pounds) and 1 yellowfin (60 pounds) on the boat. He had a few more fish hanging, and plenty of fishing left on their trip. They have room left on their Sunday night departure.
