Gull Lake Trolling Update
8-10-2016
Chad Woods
Today we went fishing at Gull Lake. We arrived at 11:45 AM just in time for the lunch time lull. It took about a half a lap before we hooked our first trout. As customary we take turns winding in the fish. We started catching at around 12:15 PM. We proceeded to catch 6 fish. We did have one shaker that was a planter it was barely 3 inches long. We fished for about three hours so that equates to a fish every half hour. We caught our fish in a couple different ways. We trolled two down-riggers varying the depth between 20 and 35 feet. We did catch 3 of our trout on an F-7 Rainbow Trout Rapala. Then we also trolled a couple lead core outfits at about 10 to 15 feet deep. We had success with the Thomas Buoyant Pink color.
We will be back at it tomorrow night and we will let you know how the fishing is!
