Red Hot YELLOWTAIL bite at Cisco's!
8-6-2016
Channel Islands Sportfishing
The red hot Yellowtail bite continues here at Cisco’s! All week long we have been hitting the Yellows hard and Saturday was no exception. Sometimes you will see the bite slow down on the weekend simply because of boat traffic but that wasn’t the case today. Even with heavy skiff traffic the fish were biting. In total, our landing boats combined for 288 Yellowtail. Several fish lost so you can only imagine if we landed 100% of the fish hooked. We would have had 3 times as many!
Besides Yellowtail there is a lot to catch here at the Channel Islands right now. Always good bottom fishing but the Barracuda and Bonito are keeping our anglers busy. Even a few White Seabass out there but shallow species like Calico Bass and Whitefish are coming on strong. No other way to say it, time to go fishing! As good as it is, it only seems to be getting better with every passing day. Call and book now as weekends are selling out a little over a week in advance. Weekday trips are still available but the limited load trips are selling out quickly too.
Today’s Fish Count: 10 boats and 261 anglers.
288 Yellowtail, 7 White Seabass, 186 Bonito, 29 Barracuda, 111 Calico Bass, 97 Perch, 2 Cabezon, 42 Lingcod, 26 Sheephead, 483 Whitefish and 450 Assorted Rockfish.
