Fish Report for 7-30-2016
Big Variety at Cisco's for Saturday!
7-30-2016
Channel Islands Sportfishing
Great weather and a huge assortment of fish caught on today’s fishing trips. Surface fishing was the main focus again for all the boats. The local island boats caught most of the Yellowtail but we did have an overnight trip catch several Yellowtail also. Calico Bass and Bonito plus some big Barracuda are coming in strong as of late. Between all 10 boats today they reported catching 14 different species. Within that 14 there are also subspecies of Rockfish and Perch further expanding the type of fish caught today. One of the best days in a while as far as variety goes.
If you’re planning on coming out soon be rigged and ready for lots of surface fishing with a slight chance of bottom fishing. A rod you can cast or flyline a live bait will be your primary setup. Bring a rod and weights for bottom fishing just in case the shallows don't bite. Also, book early especially if you’re coming out on a weekend. Trips are selling out fast Friday through Sunday. Weekday’s definitely have lighter loads and are much easier to get on at the last minute. Most of all be ready for a good time!
Today’s Fish Count: 10 boats and 201 anglers.
638 Assorted Rockfish, 80 Lingcod, 1 Sculpin, 2 Sole, 436 Ocean Whitefish, 98 Perch, 23 Sheephead, 1 Halibut, 80 Calico Bass, 51 Barracuda, 72 Bonito, 1 Soupfin Shark, 1 White Seabass and 93 Yellowtail.
