Eel River Fish Report 01-26-2008

No rain...No problem...When rain seems to be non-existent on the northern California coast that is the time you need to look for better steelhead fishing streams on the North coast. When many rivers run low and clear due to no rain other rivers can offer awesome steelheading opportunities. Here are a couple of wild steelhead we caught and released while fishing on the Eel river in late January. The larger of the two steelhead weighed 16.5 pounds and was caught on glo bug yarn and a Quickie puffball. Don't forget to mail in your 2007 steelhead report cards. They are due in by the end of this month. photo courtesy of Dave Jacobs Professional guide service
