Qualifier Crew

Well, what a difference a day and location makes. Today, we fished the Hurricane Bank and it was one of those days you go looooong range fishing for. We started early off with a few Wahoo on the troll and then dropped anchor. It was not long before once again (the hot stick of the trip so far), John Loftus hooked and landed a very nice tuna. After that it was a steady pick all afternoon. Just before dark, Chris Green hooked and landed the biggest fish so far. After about 2 hours, and with everyone cheering him on, he landed one that taped 202! The quote of the day was also made by Chris. After about 1.5 hours into it, he said, (with sweat pouring off every part of his body) "I just came out here to mess around, I didn't expect to catch anything!" Wrong -- he also landed one about 180 today. Almost everybody had a nice tuna, and the few that didn't, still have plenty of time and the spirits are high. Till tomorrow Q105 crew out: Joe, Cal, Travis L, Tim, Travis J, Kelvin, Chris, and Cappy!!!!!

A great start to any day. When all was said and done, John's tuna was the biggest,...... Read More

Today was our last day of prep. We made some leaders for the kite, and made sure everybody was ready for battle with giant yellowfin tuna. They are and so are we. After a few days of travel everyone is on the edge of their seats and just waiting to go! We hope the area we are going to is as good as last time we were there (last April). Wish us luck. Today after lunch it was more raffles....... Read More
