Steady Yellows

We awoke at Cedros Island this morning under clear skies. After checking all of our gear over coffee, we got started right at first light. We started hooking yellows right away, steady scratch fishing with 1 to 4 fish hooked all the time. We would have some better flurries through out the morning where there would be 8 or 10 going at a time. We where getting bit on the flylined sardine, the egg sinker sardine rig, the Pacific Lures yo yo jig and the PL surface iron. Like in most situations, the guys that worked hard at it had better results. A good bait, hooked well, on the right gear was pretty consistent all morning. A few guys fishing with a short 30# fluorocarbon leader and a 3/0 Mustad 94150 where hooked up steady. After our morning action, we looked around and found a couple of other areas that we caught more yellows. We did find a few spots of better grade yellows in the afternoon that were upwards of 25 to 30 lbs. All in all a great day. We are looking forward to what tomorrow brings. Wish us luck, The Intrepid Team
