Fish Report for 6-25-2016

Sunny SATURDAY at Cisco's

6-25-2016
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Absolutely beautiful weather for everyone fishing on this Saturday! Bright and sunny with air temperatures in the mid 70’s. Water temperatures are also reportedly up. One of our boats metered 67 degree water at one of the local islands. Maybe this is why we are seeing so much action on the surface of the water. Getting the Yellowtail to bite is still proving to be difficult but there are defiantly good numbers of these fish at both Anacapa and Santa Cruz Island. A little farther out at the outer islands, we are also seeing some nice fish caught. Yes, more Yellowtail but some big Halibut are stealing the show this week. Only yesterday a pending woman’s IGFA world record was set for California Halibut. Overall, fishing around the Channel Islands is very good and only going to get better as this is just the beginning of Summer! Today’s Fish Count: 10 boats and 271 anglers. 1,934 Assorted Rockfish, 66 Lingcod, 3 Sheephead, 6 Sculpin, 32 Whitefish, 1 Barracuda, 18 Calico Bass, 1 Halibut, 2 White Seabass and 5 Yellowtail.
