Current Flows are Moderate to High and some of that is attributed to water being drawn out of Donner for Pyramid Lake. With flows being moderately High down river concentrate your efforts on the shoulders of large deep runs and back eddies. From Glenshire stretch down to Boca outflow flows are in great shape. Streamers have been effective in sculpin imitations, darker colors, Green Drakes below Boca in nymphs and dries, Golden Stones, beginning stages of Caddis, Little Yellow Stoneflies, and PMD's. Don't discount Crayfish patterns as these can be effective also with flows being up. Hopefully, within a few weeks we'll see the river start to come back into shape and that's when things will really start to pop. Remember, there will be days where you'll do great and the next you'll get your you know what handed to you, it's the Truckee. Lot's of Big Trout caught in the spring so if you get the chance get out! To learn the river exponentially, hire one of our local guides.
