Catch of the Week: Randy Keihm from Torrance, CA with the "catch of the week". It was a stout 6 pound 4 ounce Rainbow caught at the Inlet with a Gulp worm. Nice catch, Randy!
Other notable catches this week:
Donny Moore and Charley Tomlin of Mojave, CA with a stringer full of toads. They were fishing the Inlet of the lake using Needlefish and Tasmanian Devils.
Tyler Garding of Canyon Country, CA hooked into a 2 pound 3 ounce Rainbow using Rainbow Powerbait. He was fishing the North Shore.
Jackson Norris with a 2 pound 11 ounce Rainbow that he landed while fishing at the Inlet. Jackson used Salmon Peach Powerbait to bring this great catch home.
Denise Gutierrez from San Gabriel, CA caught a 2 pound 11 ounce Rainbow using a Nightcrawler. She was fishing at the Inlet.
Tactics/Bait: The top lures this week were Needlefish and Tasmanian Devils. Mice Tails and Gulp worms were the hot jigs. Besides Powerbait, both Nightcrawlers and Pinched Crawlers were the hot baits. The top Powerbait colors were Rainbow and Salmon Peach. In the creek try salmon eggs, small spinners or Marvel Flies. The hot locations this week were the Inlet and surrounding areas. Alternative locations to try would be the South Shore, North Shore, Jetty/Outlet Area and Hangman's Tree.
Here is a list of other baits/lures that can be productive: Panther Martins, Tasmanian Devils, green or brown Marvel Fly Lures, Kastmasters, NeedleFish, Roostertails, and garlic scent on Powerbait.
Here is a list of recommended flies:
Dry Flies: Adams, Female Adams, Cutter's Caddis, Elk Hair Caddis, Stimulators, Black/Red Ants, Sierra Bright Dot, Royal Coachman and Hoppers.
