Hi friends. Checking in here to give everyone an update as to how our annual maintenance season is progressing. A couple of weeks ago, we completed our annual haul out at Driscoll’s Boat Yard in Shelter Island and we’re now back at the docks, diving into various projects that will keep us busy from now up until the end of the month when our first trip departs.

A lot of the projects we’ve involved ourselves in has been mostly “gut work” and machinery upkeep that most passengers will never see but rest assured that the work we’re doing is to keep the Polaris Supreme operating at tip-top condition. We might not be making her shine like a brand new Cadillac this year but we’re ensuring that all systems are running soundly and making sure that we return back to the docks after every voyage.

With that being said, here is a list of the task that Drew, Gunny, Jed, and myself have completed thus far.

Replaced all zinc plates and painted the bottom of the boat.

Cleaned thru-hull bonnets.

Rebuilt bilge pump and watermaker motors.

Installed new fire pump and plumbing.

Painted bilge pumps, refrigeration compressors/condensers, CO2 extinguishing tanks and watermaker motors.

Painted engine room floorboards.

Refinished teak in the entire wheelhouse

Installed new A/C units in wheelhouse.

I’m sure I’m forgetting a few tasks that we’ve completed but I’ll check out the list on Monday and write them up in the next update. We have a few more projects to dive into and a few that are currently still in progress but know that the Supreme Team is working hard to ensure the safety of every passenger and to keep the Supreme running as efficiently as possible. I’ll have some photos for everyone on Monday as Riddler just brought the shiny, new camera down to the boat today. I’ll be sure to snap a few photos and get them up on the website/Facebook in the next couple of days.

In other news, the offshore scene is starting to shape up nicely. Schools of Bluefin tuna in the 40-130+ lbs class are being caught by the guys fishing on early summer trips and along with some school-sized Yellowfin tuna and Yellowtail. Just a friendly reminder, get your butts in gear and call Susan ASAP and get your butt on a trip. We on the Polaris Supreme look forward to seeing all of your butts this upcoming season.

So that is all. Just wanted to say hello to everyone and update y’all on what the boys are up to. I heard a rumor of Mark showing up for boatwork in the next couple of days so we’re making sure that hard hat is in tip-top operating condition as well, because if anyone knows about Mark and boatwork, he’s going to put that thing to good use. Take care. I’ll be updating the site a little more regularly in the next couple of weeks so keep on the look out for our dazzling boatwork adventures. Who knows? Maybe one of us will get stung by a bee or something; I don’t know. Stay tuned…

The team you dream about,
The Supreme Team

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013 Good afternoon. Boatwork is progressing nicely. Wrenches have been thrown, flashlights have been chucked, and the curse words have been flowing like the beer flows like wine in a little place called Assssssspppen. I personally have never heard quite so many variations of the F word in my short life. That's boatwork, though. It's like beating your head against a wall for a... month but somehow, after you think that you can't take anymore of a bashing,...... Read More

Thursday, April 25th, 2013 Hi friends. Mother Nature is lovin' us right about now. She's given us an absolutely gorgeous ride as we make our final approach to home. It's not quite soft butter but it's a notch away from that. Word to your mama - Mama Nature. Anywho, we finished detailing out the engine room machinery and we can eat off of the floor of our heads (bathrooms); so what do we do now? Well, Drew fired up a cigar,...... Read More
