Channel Islands Sportfishing
A great way to end another weekend of fishing the Channel Islands! We had boats return from both the inner and outer islands trips with Yellowtail and White Seabass. Also being caught is big Whitefish and Sheephead and of course all kinds of Rockfish. Some boats did better than others but overall this was an outstanding day of fishing. The weather continues to be nice as heat blankets the inland valleys. We are sitting cool in the mid 70’s with overcast skies and morning fog. These conditions create ideal conditions for fishing this area. We welcome the “June Gloom” and all the great fishing it brings!
Pictured here is Mary Thompson from Oxnard with her jackpot White Seabass from the Island Tak today. Worth mentioning not only because its a big fish but because this was her first trip for Seabass since having life saving surgery in March of this year.
Today’s Fish Count: 12 boats and 311 anglers
82 Yellowtail, 4 White Seabass, 2 Barracuda, 4 Halibut, 25 Calico Bass, 112 Sheephead, 352 Ocean Whitefish, 141 Lingcod, 7 Cabezon, 18 Sculpin, 3 Sole and 2,262 Assorted Rockfish.
