Silver Lake Fishing Report
6-2-2016
Andrew Jones
The warmer weather is starting to help make the fishing a little better this past week but the water is still sitting at 49 degrees as the snow melt from this past Winters Snow is dumping into the lake in Alger and Rush Creek. The lake level raised about a foot this past week because of the amount of water going into the lake. The level is as high as we have seen it in the past few years, which is great. For our spin fishermen, night crawlers is the most consistent bait we have seen, fishing in mid depth water, Garlic Power Baits and Mice Tails have also shown some great results. If you like to troll, Tasmanian Devils with some Pink or Red in it and an Olive Matuka Streamer with a Red Gil has shown some great results also trolling in the mid depths of the lake. We have also seen the bug world come to life and have seen some good results with a California Mosquito, a Grey Hackle Peacock or a Renegade Nymph. We are on the schedule to be stocked by DFW this next week and with the warmer weather it should help to continue to see solid fishing. We have seen a great number of larger 2 to 5 pound trout but are still seeing slower results when it comes to stringers full of fish. The warmer weather should continue to help fishing as it warms up the waters more and the fishing should continue to improve.
