Angler Tom Pipkin caught a beautiful 47 pound Halibut today at Santa Cruz Island aboard the Island Tak.

Captain John Fuqua called in this evening. Today we had a good day fishing. Yesterday we saw more Yellowtail then we saw at anytime last year. However, today they were gone. Not sure where they went but we will find them.
At the end of the day we did a drift for Halibut at Santa Cruz Island and angler Tom Pipkin caught this beautiful 47 pound Halibut on a Sardine.
The Island Tak is under new ownership and John Fuqua will carry the torch from this point on. We are all sad to see Steve Kelly go but John will continue where Captain Steve left off.
Halibut
Captain John Fuqua and Angler Tom Pipkin with a 47 pound Halibut caught at Santa Cruz Island. This is the largest Halibut reported to SFR this year (so far)!
