The warming trend has pushed the trout down deeper, approx. 25′ down is where the trollers are finding them. Last week we had 4 trout plants, this week we had two plants. Next week is a double plant including trophy trout and it will be the last one for this year.

Sometimes you are fortunate enough to see our Bald Eagle catch his trout for supper! Mike Wills caught these awesome pictures of the landing and take off with our Bald Eagle securing his meal for the day!!

Wow! We had some big trout caught this week, including a 7 lb. 1 oz. by Dustin Brown of Marysville. He was fishing off Rd. 6 from shore using PowerBait. Just today Pat Rebello hooked her 6 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow while trolling PowerBait. Her other buddies (The Mean Green Fishing Machine) they call themselves include Bev & Les Mason meet her annually and always catch LIMITS of trout….

Vic Courtright & his pal Norm Jackson brought up Vic’s 6 lb. 4 oz. trophy trout for a photo yesterday, they were in a boat fishing with PowerBait in the north end towards the bridge.

iphone pictures from the Blount Family who had a fantastic weekend and can’t wait to come back, Thanks!! Dale Mansfield from Forbestown took home a limit of trout, a Catfish and two nice Bass which he caught in Elmer’s Cove. Hayden Keeney of Rocklin caught five Crappie off the dock on Crappie Jigs.

Ben Wells from Oroville hooked not one but TWO gorgeous trout trolling with a Rapala, one was 4 lb. 12 oz. & a 5 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow! Shelby Green was trolling a spoon type lure and caught her trophy trout weighing in at 6 lb. 4 oz.

Many trout limits were caught this week by trollers on a variety of lures including Kastmasters, Needlefish, Rapalas & Speedy Shiners which is much different from past weeks where most boaters were having better luck with flashers and worms.

Ryan Smith actually limited out on trout down by the dam and he was trolling from his Kayak with PowerBait. Young Ami from Y.City caught her 4 lb. trout beauty near the marina on PowerBait.

Shore fishing is still really good but not during the heat of the day, you have to get out early or fish around dusk for best results.
