Catching the Spotlight

9 year old Carter Theis caught a tagged 3 lb. Catfish out of lake 3 and won a new fishing pole and an assortment of plastics from Anglers Arsenal. David Makin from Spring Valley hauled in an 8 lb. 7 oz. Catfish from lake 1 on stinkbait. The next stock of Catfish is due to arrive this Friday. This stock will be split into lakes 4 and 6. Lakes 6 and 7 are reserved exclusively for Santee Lakes Campers. These 2 Lakes do not see as much fishing pressure as the other lakes and tend to yield larger fish.

Lake Lowdown

This is the perfect time of year for fishing as all the species are biting. Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Bluegill and Carp.

California State License NOT required! Just purchase a Santee Lakes daily fishing permit and start catching fish.

All Bass are catch and release and barbless hooks are appreciated. Thanks to our sponsors: East County Bait & Tackle, Anglers Arsenal, West Coast Arborist, Greenbrier Lawn & Tree Experts, Best Best & Krieger and Pardee Homes.
