Hello everyone; Well our morning started out a bit slow, with not current, and very few fish biting. We pulled our anchor did some trolling, some kite trolling, but still not luck. So we put the anchor back down and started picking away at the Wahoo, started getting a little more current, then it’s like someone turned on the light switch. We would get a few fish on the kite, we would even get a few fish to bite the sardines.
Once the sunset Kirk McCoy would hook a very mean Yellowfin tuna, that would put Kirk and his tackle to the test. But in the end, Kirk would be the victory, and get big fish honors for today. Kirk fished weighed in at 187 pounds.
Most of the Yellowfin today were in the 120 to 150 pound range and a handful of 160 to 187 pound category. So we ended up with 21 Yellowfin tuna and 12 Wahoo for our efforts today.
We will try to make some bait (puffers and flyers) tonight, but with the moon almost full, I don’t see us getting very many puffers or flyers.
Weather continues to be excellent, with 10 to 12 knots of breeze, slightly overcast, and warm. So with that note, wish us luck and we will keep you updated on our daily events.
