Low and Slow
3-14-2016
Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce
There was a Department of Fish and Wildlife trout plant in upper river at the park in Kernville and near the powerhouse three weeks ago, but the bite has slowed way down. An occasional fish still showing on crickets and salmon eggs. The upper stretch above where the plants were made has continued to be slow for bait and lure anglers, and the action for fly anglers on the upper river near Johnsondale Bridge is fair on wild fish with some mid-morning hatches on warm days. The lower river is very low and the bite is very slow.
