Lake Amador Fishing Report

Lake Amador Staff

Hooray! Its finally happened, we are spilling over! Truly a beautiful sight to see that hasn't happened in years. With this last storm pushing us over capacity hopefully the lake will soon start to clean itself out. The Trout are changing their game with the cooler weather. Most Trout have been caught shallow in the top 5ft of water, but there are still reports of some being caught up to 15ft deep. Green Power Bait and Kastmasters always do well. We also have another fish plant scheduled for this week. The Bass bite is still going strong using worms and jigs. The dock is continually turning up some big Crappie. The Catfish are on the move with a monster 19.12lb caught this Sunday while Trout fishing with a pink and white mousetail. That fish game him a good fight of 30 minutes on 8lb test. We wrapped up our annual tagged trout derby on Sunday and two people walked away with $500, while others got some good prizes. Next year if you have bought in on the derby show up to the drawing, we called 16 people for that $500 that didn't show up! Bummer!
