Fish Report for 2-16-2016

Umpqua Steelhead

2-16-2016
Mario Gomez

Spent the weekend chasing steelhead in southern Oregon, and did well. The rivers were very busy but all of the guides were seeing 5 to 10 fish a day. The bait, yarn, and fly's all produced fish. The larger river systems are just starting to come into shape and are stuffed full of fish. We seen fish come out of fast riffles, deep holes, and tail-outs. It looks like things are shaping up to be a pretty good winter steelhead season. The early high water allowed the fish to get up the rivers and spreed out before they got to beat up. The Klamath, Rogue, and Umpqua rivers are all seeing above average numbers of steelhead this year so you better get off your &%@ and put a line in the water. We have 6 days left to book this season, if you want to see some of these silver bullets on the end of your line you should call ASAP.
