How high is the water Mama? It’s 60% full and rising!!! Only 22 more feet to go before the water is going over the spillway…..
Last week’s 1800 lb. fish plant came at a very appropriate time, when the lake had 3 ft. of visibility and the weather was in the mid 70’s. Lots of people took to the water or shoreline with their fishing poles and hooked some awesome fish–mostly Trout.
Today I was told that lots of people are limiting out along the shoreline down by the dam using worms or PowerBait. After the recent rains the visibility is closer to one to one and half feet and will improve daily.
Next week we will receive another awesome load of trout which includes some trophy sized fish as well. Theplant will be another 1,800 lbs. and 3/4 of the load are catchables and 1/4 are big trophies!!
Congratulations Barrett Anderson of Wheatland for catching your 1st fish Ever at Collins Lake, a beautiful 1-1/4 lb. rainbow trout!
Tom Pickett and his group brought up 4 boats and they took home 15 trout and Tom’s biggest weighed 4 lb. 8 oz. just a few days ago
Brad Goodnight of G.V. trolled a worm on a pink flasher and landed a beautiful 3 lb. trout. Gianna Tassio of Pacifica caught two stunning trout on worms by the boat ramp. Leah Gibson from Napa hooked a 2 lb. 10 oz. trout on yellow PowerBait by the dam.
Ben Deboy looked quite happy about his 4 lb. catch!! Ben trolled with a trout lure down by the dam for his trophy trout….
Theresa & Brian Jeff hooked TWO Limits of trout off the beach shoreline on garlic PowerBait. Kong & Johnathon Xiong also took home TWO Limits of trout using worms of Kastmasters off the beach.
