Lake Del Valle Fishing Report
2-11-2016
Del Valle Marina
The Beautiful Spring like weather has raised the water temperature to 52 degrees. The water is however still stained with a visibility of about 5 feet. Water level has stabilized with plenty of water at the public launch. The trout plants since 12-06- 2016 have been 11,450lbs with 7450Ibs of Mt Lassen. This week we received 1000lbs of Mt Lassen.
Trout fishing from boat or shore have started to improve greatly, mainly in the south end of the Lake all the way up to Hetch Hetchy. The best baits to use are Mice Tails, Powerbait and night crawlers. If you like trolling or throwing lures try Kastmasters, gold in color. Rapals and Roster Tails have also been working well.
Stripers are starting to show as well from boats or shore. The preferred baits to use have been Anchovies, Sardines and Chicken Livers.
Large and Small mouth Bass are still in deeper waters with a few reports. Most of the reports are from anglers who catch and release.
Catfish has slowed down a bit this week. Most of our anglers are mainly targeting Trout. If you want to try for catfish you might try Chicken Livers, Sardines, Anchovies and Night Crawlers.
